Frequently Asked Questions: Operating Systems

This post is part of the Frequently Asked Questions section of my blog. I will pick a frequently asked question and then explain what it is, how it works and the benefits of using that component or feature. For this post, I’m going to answer: “What server and client operating systems can be used with more recent tracking systems, including Intra Enterprise?”

Most updated tracking systems, including Intra Enterprise, can utilize 64-bit compatible server operating systems that are Windows Server 2008 or newer. For its storage of package, asset, or other information the following database platforms are supported: SQL Server 2008/R2, SQL Server 2012, SQL Server 2014, SQL Server 2016, and SQL Azure. The database server may be client-supplied or provided via a 3rd party hosting service. Workstation client operating systems supported are 64-bit compatible Windows 7 and higher.
